Biography:
Jeremy Sloane is one of the two founding partners of the firm and is a proactive, solutions-oriented lawyer who focuses on mitigating legal risk before it arises and finding creative solutions to complex problems. The firm was founded based on the belief that a boutique firm is the best setting within which to provide the highest level of service for clients and to add value for them – not simply expense. These philosophies drive his practice, as well as the practices of the firm. Mr. Sloane has attained an AV® Preeminent 5.0 out of 5 Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the maximum rating for legal ability and ethics that a lawyer can receive, and has been recognized by numerous publications for his legal acumen.
Mr. Sloane possesses a diverse legal and business background, having advised emerging growth, middle market, and public companies across various sectors of the economy including retail, healthcare, distribution, manufacturing, real estate, defense, telecommunications, and technology. A substantial portion of his practice is devoted to structuring, negotiating and documenting complex domestic and cross-border corporate and complex commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations, private equity and venture capital transactions, real estate development joint ventures, and corporate finance matters. He has structured, negotiated, and documented sophisticated business transactions having values well into the hundreds of millions of dollars. Possessing a Master’s Degree in Taxation, Mr. Sloane also routinely assists business clients with federal and state tax planning, tax compliance, IRS and state audits and tax controversies, as well as individual, partnership and corporate tax matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sloane was Of Counsel to Akerman Senterfitt, Florida's largest law firm with 425+ attorneys. Earlier in his legal career, he was an associate in the Tax Group at DLA Piper, the world's largest law firm with over 3,000 attorneys, and worked in-house for Lockheed Martin.
In his spare time, Mr. Sloane enjoys spending time with his family and chasing after his three small children, Jackson, Delaney and Madelyn.
